Hey Joe was wandering what u and everybody else thaught about this .To make the electric shift issue a true majority rules of all the drivers involed because i know several which do not have a forum account, what do you think about at the first points race leave it legal and have every driver in no -e before they turn in their tec card either write yes or no somewhere on the card whether they want to be able to use one or they dont that way its the drivers that are influencing the decision and no one else and then no one can gripe one way or the other and the true majority will rule and which ever way it goes make that the rule starting at points race #2 thanks. Jimmy

Who else is influencing the decision? If u mean me, I said I'm neither for or against. However I would rather know the rules before we start the season, just so we know if we r going no e or super pro. That's my only concern. Surely everyone could sign on and gain access to this forum like we all have, especially if they are concerned about running an electric shifter in no e. But I'm not a driver....just the sponsor of one. Lol. But I'm down for what ever y'all decide.....I just want to see that beautiful silver Chevelle run it's heart out and my driver grinning from ear to ear

thats not what i meant at all ginger i just want everyone that races there to be able to put there vote in and there is alot of people that dont want to register for the forum because they dont want the back and fourth that goes with it im starting to wish i hadnt and if it would make everybody happy just make it illegal till after the vote or set somethin up on the website were at one of the tnts or at the first heads up night since thats not for points so everyone has a chance to make a closed ballet vote on it that way anyone that wants to do it can do it cause some of the racers im sure arent sayin anything cause im sure they just dont want to stur the pot not meaning to affend anybody just tryn to get my point across as well and maybe this forum isnt the place to do it not sure..

It is really simple.
The rules are in place, run the class you fit or make changes to run the class you want.
If you want to run electronics, run super pro.
If you want to run no/e don't use electronics.
If you do not want to shift the car, figure out exactly what you have done to cause an OEM designed automatic transmission to not shift on its own and undo that.

Darryl's feelings on the subject are the same. Electronics have no place in the No E class

I'm not saying you wouldn't follow the rules and neither is Darryl, I think u know that. Like I said its not personal, Darryl is just giving his opinion like everyone else is. Not looking to go back and forth or influence anyone's free will.

ok then rules also state that you can enter both no-e and super pro at the same event so in the case someone does and they have the electric shift do they have to remove it every round or just disable it for when they come up for no-e?

my car did meet all rules for No-E until these new rules came out and has ever since the track has been open OK. I remember bracket racing at Pier7 once, I do not remember who ran the place then or electronic shifters, transbrakes, etc being allowed, but I do remember it being a 1000' race, man that must of been like 10 years ago or something. I do not bracket race anymore, I was trying to help you explore other options that are available to be used where you do not have to shift the car and still meet the No/e rules... ( didnt forum rules state to use our real name) This wasn't a requirement on Jun 27, 2006, the date I activated my account. The option of changing my username isn't available, I could change the way my user name is displayed or I could display it in a custom title, while I mull over the action I will take would you like for me to add your last name to your display name?

Joe and I talked about this before and I thought it was over, but I geuss not. If you have a late model car with a computer it usually shifts itself so are you people saying a late model car cant run no-e? Most of you understand the point Im trying to make here and the rest of you just what to TRY and race.

Cool! Finally some forum action! Ha ha. I will let it go for now, only cause its late and my brain isnt functioning...not that it ever does.
Gordon, I did talk to you, but I talk to a few others also...and just like Jimmy said, they aren't into the forum deal.
And also I will tell you the same thing I told Jason and Jimmy, Powerglide transmission ARE automatic, along with th-400, th-350, c-4, c-6, torqueflight etc. Its not my fault you guys made them manual shift, then turned them back into automatic.
I honestly dont care either way, mainly I just wanted to buy an electric shifter cheap so I banned them. LOL

Joe we need to know now if you're going to allow electric or air shifters. There are a lot of us who don't have these shifters but would buy and install them if they were legal to be competitive. This needs to be done before the season starts to give the guys time to buy and install them before the first test and tune dates. Post by Jon Hollis on Feb 18, 2012 7:25:38 GMT -6
My opinion since I don't race enough to ''vote'' LOL.. IF I could have bought an automatic valve body that shifted as hard as this manual does. I'd still have an automatic shifter... BUT I couldn't so I have a ''manual'' shifting auto with an electric solenoid shifting it...
SSSOOOOO with that being said. I hope you allow electic shifters in No/E because it'd be nice to be able to race my car in both classes.
ALSO.. No/E is an incorrect name for the class anyway. To truly be No/E you should also ban any ''electronic'' ignition system (like MSD) an make everyone run the old ''points ignitions''.... HA Ha ha.. How's that for pot stirrin.. HA Ha ha..
Let's go RACIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe anyone knew they were legal Tammie, just assumed no e meant no electronics would be my best guess. All I want to know is if they will or won't be this year. If they are we will buy one before the season starts just like bill said.

My question would be, if there isn't some sort of advantage, why does it matter anyway? Just saying.....lol. All this pushing to have them makes everyone wonder if there's more of an advantage then just safety....or thats what I keep hearing from other racers who aren't on the forum. Like I said we r neither for or against, just wanna know BEFORE we start racing. Thats all.... typed with love btw, cause u know I love ya Tammie
