Not long ago they were rumors that rock quarry bought tulsa raceway and it was going to shut down . And there were rumors that woods bro was shuting down . A lot of drivers I talked to were wondering where we were going to race or if we were going to get to race . ( lot of us cant afford to drive 200 miles to race ) Tulsa stayed open under new management . with a lot of new safety rules . ( lot of us cant afford ) Joe stepped up and is trying to keep OUTLAW DRAGWAY open . ( to give us local drivers a track to race ) He said he has never done bracket raceing .That is why he started this fourm to get all drivers in put .I think if everyone will post there opinion and give him a little time he will make the changes that need to be made . I dont know about you all but I did not learn how to drive the first year I started raceing .Dont get all upset how he's running the track the first year he started running it . Thanks Joe for giveing us local drivers track to race at.

I agree.
I know I was very worried. I can afford to go to CV, but it's a lot more money and I would not be able to go so often. Tulsa is out of the question for my budget. Mo-Kan is way more than CV in travel money. Joe has done a big favor for the racing community in our area. THANKS GUY!
Also if there is a weekend you are not open and want to work on the track, I bet a bunch of us would help. I know I would. Mowing, Raking or picking up trash. Whatever we could do. (You guys like how I volunteered you?)

I also agree with Kevin.....I also can not afford to go to any other tracks on a regular basis. I appreciate a place to race and enjoy. Joe and his crew is doing a very good job. I can honesly say i have seen that track go through alot of people over the years and by far Joe is one of the best for what situation is...I hope that Joe can run it for awhile. Reasons for not being there lately due to going on vacation. Ready to get the car back on the track when we get back. If needs any help i am willing too. Maybe plant more shade trees!!! LOL!

Hay Joe Wondering If you mind If I do A little advertising for the track up hear around Tahlequah . The blower car that summer drives draws a lot of attention. we drive it on the street quite a bit . When we stop at a store there is always someone checking out the blower taking pictures of the motor. I talked to them at KBSigns in Tahlequah They said if you could email them a picture of Outlaw Dragway logo they could make sticker's to put on the side of my vet . ( Cover the whole door ) If want to email them a picture I will pay for the stickers. I think it would look pretty cool to have Outlawdragway on the side of my car and hopefully help out the track with some free advertising . If you are interested here is thier phone number & email. Just let them know what you want them to look like.

I dont have a horse in this race, probably wont till next year the way things are going, so I dont post much, and keep most of my opinions and comments to myself. Being in the Tulsa metro area, I don't know if posting the fliers Joe sent me did any good, so I try to always share his facebook postings to help him get the word out, and encourage others to do the same. Most of the racers are friends on f/b, and we might have to look at alot of the same "shares", and it may feel redundant, but each of us have non raceing friends that wont know about it if we dont. So keep passing the word. It can't hurt.
I'm five miles from TRP, or two hours away from Sallisaw. The last year I ran my ole heap, it spent a lot more trailer time on the turnpike, than the local streets.. Sallisaw is a neat place to race. I sure look forward to racing there again.
I WILL be back...

Let me tell you about this guy. My son had went to the lake one weekend and I wanted to race. I posted on either Facebook or the Tulsa board that I wanted Bob's number. Eric Terrell sent it to me. I called Bob and sad "You think you might want to drive my car tonight?". (He had a fast car which was being rebuilt. That's it in the photo above) He almost could not get the words out fast enough. Showed up, went 5 rounds (with no buyback) and won that weekend. Mind you he had never sat in the car before that night. That was my first win either as an owner or driver. He beat Gary Watts, Shawn Battenfield, Glendon Williams, and Darrel (I think that's his first name) Prater before beating Mark Candy in the final. That's impressive! I will never forget that race. Sorry Bob, but I am so proud of that day it makes me tell this over and over. Thanks for making an unforgettable memory. Those are the days you live for. (And I believe that was your little dogs first race!)
